Howells’ small works are collages of drawings and map pieces inspired by mosaics. Many of the works feature wrestlers in various stances of engagement, representing the endless struggle between humans, and the impact those conflicts have on the world around us. The map pieces are cut up and rearranged, and from discarded, out-of-date atlases, representing humanity’s desire to resolve the structure of the world through conflict.
