Profiles
Through his most recent work, Howells explores the modern phenomenon of making the “private” public and the various ways we present an image of ourselves. Profiles has multiple meanings. It is a reference to the modern online concept of a person’s profile, curated and optimized. It is also a reference to the idea of a persons “profile” as a biography, a summary of who they are. And finally, Profiles is a reference to the visual “profile” view in art, as a silhouette, an outline of the person.
